Dillon City Council Passes Depot Newsboy Ban Ordinance

In regular session the Dillon council approved an ordinance prohibiting newsboys from selling papers on the Oregon Short Line depot platform. The meeting covered liquor licens es, city finances, fire prevention, and building inspections with emphasis on keeping minors from saloons and improving downtown safety.

Death of Spencer Harwood Pioneer Idaho Merchant and Leader

Spencer Harwood a prominent southeastern Idaho figure died at Spencer Idaho last Monday He helped found Spencer Harwood Company and Spencer Eccles ventures in lumber mercantile business He financed ranchers and aided settlers in the region Funeral services were held in Spencer with Eagle Rock lodge No 19 A F and A M conducting.

Jury Acquits John Hoffman in Grand Larceny Trial

In Beaverhead County Court Judge Poindexter presided as jurors acquitted John Hoffman on the charge of grand larceny after the trial that included changing the date of the alleged theft and testimony from over twenty witnesses. The case stemmed from alleged cattle theft while Hoffman worked for Anderson Brothers.
