Death of Daniel T. Chapman Shocks Dillon Community
Daniel Thornton Chapman, a longtime Dillon merchant and Masonic leader, died suddenly from heart failure at age about 45 after New Year visits. He chaired Dillon Lodge No. 80 and held several high Masonic offices, was vice president of Montana Mercantile Co., and leave a wife Clara N. Shively and two young sons. The community mourns a respected, active citizen with a large funeral procession.
