Dillon Resident Joseph LeClair Dies at 70
Funeral services for Joseph LeClair 70 Dillon resident who died Monday at his Railroad Avenue home were held Wednesday at Brundage chapel with Rev Father F X Lechner officiating. Interment was in Mountain View cemetery. Born New York February 16 1868 he came to Dillon in 1903. He is survived by his wife and stepson Henry Toomey of Butte.

Democrats to Attend Jackson Day Dinner in Great Falls
A Beaverhead county Democratic delegation will travel to Great Falls on January 7 for the Jackson Day dinner. Bruce A. Risley announced the event, with tickets sent by state Democratic chairman Arthur Lamey. Prominent party officials will attend and M. L. A sheriff's office report states a collision occurred Monday afternoon on the northern outskirts of town. Joe Knight of Anaconda drove into the rear of a truck driven by Rudolph Nyeren as Nyeren slowed to turn into McClain Lane from Highway 91, crumpling the Fender and breaking headlights.

Car License Rush Starts At Courthouse
By noon Wednesday 145 Beaverhead passenger car licenses and 40 truck licenses had been issued at the county treasurer Miss Bertie Mathews office. A total of 323 drivers permits had also been issued. Licenses began Tuesday morning when Mrs. Mary Molleur received her license. The process follows last year’s procedure with vehicle assessment at the assessor’s office before license application. Taxes are collected at the treasurer’s office and payment is required before issuance.

Principal Orr Granted Two Year Contract
Conrad Orr principal of Beaverhead County High School was tendered a two year contract by the Beaverhead board at a special meeting last month. Trio Sentenced on Forgery Charges
Clarence Myers Nick Thomas and Perry Bromley pleaded guilty to forgery and were sentenced by Judge Henry G Rodgers to state prison. Myers drew four years for passing forged checks at two local businesses. Thomas and Bromley were sentenced to two and one year respectively for cashing forged checks at an Arm stead case. LaCroix and Ellsworth face arraignment next week on related charges. Myers was moved to Deer Lodge prison New Year’s day, Thomas Monday, Bromley today.

Last week a Beaverhead 4-H Livestock Club event allowed 28 stockmen alumni and members to inspect calves on feed. Attendees included R T Clark and Ralph McCall from the State College animal husbandry department. Calves on feed include Angus calves purchased by Otha Graham and by John Hartwig, Herefords bought by Harry Tash and Archie Hayden, two Short horns bought by Rudy Platt, and other Angus and Hereford calves from Gleed Bros and METAS ranch. Jim Hartwig feeds an Angus calf from Archie Hayden and a Hereford from the METAS ranch at Sheridan.
