Mrs. Osie Smith a Monida businesswoman and postmistress died Saturday after a lingering illness. Born in Michigan April 24 1881 she lived in Monida over 35 years operating the mercantile and Mitmit hotel. Survived by husband C J Smith son Farmer Smith mother Mrs Joseph Duff father Mr Schrope and cousin Mrs Frances Kendrick. Funeral Wednesday at Grace Methodist Church interment Mountain View Cemetery. Neighbors of Woodcraft and Diana Rebekah lodge aided services.

Wilkinson Speaks on Unused Credits at Rotary

New Year’s Eve Celebrations Draw Large Local Crowds
Dillon welcomed 1934 with midnight merriment as dozens attended dances and watch parties. A large crowd filled the city hall auditorium for the annual firemen’s dance, while many county dances drew strong patronage. Beaverhead American Legion posts sponsored a dance at the city hall on Tuesday evening.

Ranchman of Big Hole Is Claimed
Jorgen Jorgenson longtime Big Hole stockman died on Christmas Day at his Los Angeles home after a brief illness. Born in 1866 in Jylland Denmark he immigrated to America as a youth and reached Montana in 1885 settling on a Wisdom area ranch. He leaves a widow married in 1895 two sons Ralph and Arthur and three daughters Edith Harriet and Mrs William Hyatt. He was a Wisdom Lodge member and the funeral was held in Los Angeles under its auspices.

Allan Wheeler Dies at 69 in Los Angeles Office
Allan Wheeler formerly connected with the Dillon Tribune in the early 1990s died at his office in Los Angeles on December 28. He was 69. Survived by his wife four children and several grandchildren. Wheeler had been in the book publishing business and lived in California for many years.
