Hay press injury ends with amputation of Austrian man
John Butalla, an Austrian laborer, suffered a crushing injury when one foot was caught in a hay press last week and underwent surgery. Amputation was found necessary and the injured man had about four inches removed.

Last Friday the Tribune Store held a prize giveaway with several winners. Mrs Oscar Johnson won the Webster's Una bridged Dictionary for number 1471 drawn by Leone Carter. In Jasper Nelson's bean jar count 4672. Raymond Noyes matched exactly and won a musical album. Gilbert and Farnsworth tied for second, dice decided Gilbert won a toilet set, Farnsworth earned a large box of stationery. Harry Gilbert won a piano raffle by Vic Grace. Dillon also had winners in the Butte Miner's dot-counting contest.

Painter Joe Engle Dies of Lobar Pneumonia in Dillon
Joe Engle a journeyman painter long in Dillon was found ill in a saloon Thursday afternoon. Under Dr Dexter’s care he was moved to a lodging house and died within thirty minutes of arrival. The state notes Engle’s destitution and county funds will cover burial expenses. About twelve Dillon teachers attended the state teachers’ meeting in Anaconda this week.
