Boy Scouts Hold Largest Attendance At Annual Dinner
The annual father and son dinner at St James guild hall drew the largest crowd yet with all 19 Lima Scouts attending from the southern county, plus Scoutmaster Camas Nelson and sponsors. Prof Robert Chirk presided as toastmaster, and after a women served repast, speakers praised the committee’s work, Eagle Scout Melbourne Jackson spoke on Scoutdom, and Scout Commissioner J C Wedum offered thanks. The intertroop meeting at St James hall featured target shooting compass hunts first aid and pace contests, ending with a court of honor slated for 7:30 pm at the junior high room.

Beavers Look Toward District Championship Run
Beaverhead county high school fans consider the Beavers strong contenders for Class B district honors at Twin Bridges starting Feb 28. They topped Twin Bridges 27 to 18 as Exum Brown combined well and Gilbert led a stiff defense. Butte high pressed late, holding the Beavers scoreless until the final quarter, as Malkovich and Brown provided most scoring.

Renfro Wins New National Honors in Trapshooting
K. W. Renfro of Dell, an international live bird champion, won the individual flyer cup at the Interstate Trapshooting Tournament in Kansas City after a shootout with ten high gunmen. He also captured the individual target open cup with 91 of 100, and tied for high scores in the 100-flyer event where Spencer Olin of Illinois edged him by one target.

Mary Baker Passes After Illness at Home
Mrs. Mary B Baker widow of John S Baker died at her South Pacific Street home after months of illness. Born March 23 1864 in Utah she lived in the region over thirty years and was highly esteemed. Surviving are nine of eleven children and several siblings. Funeral services were held at Grace Methodist church with interment at Mountain View Cemetery.
