Woman Fatally Injured In Wise River Auto Crash

Mrs. Frank Carlson, 41, died when a Stude baker sedan plunged 75 feet into the Big Hole river after a curve lock tearing gear failure, as her husband superintendent of Quartz Hill mine was seriously injured. The couple, residents of Wise River for ten years, were en route from Butte after Christmas shopping. burial occurred in Anaconda. Sheriff McCollum and others investigated. coroner ruled out an inquest.

Northern Pacific Adds Second North Coast Limited Sections

Northern Pacific will run two sections of the North Coast Limited for holiday travel. A westbound section from Chicago to Seattle will operate through to Seattle daily December 16 to 24, and an eastbound section from Seattle to St. Paul December 15 to 28. Extra service aims to handle higher holiday demand and low fares through January 1, with return tickets valid to January 31, 1936.

Granddaughter of local residents dies after surgery

Mrs. Priscilla Smith traveled to Pocatello after the death last night of her granddaughter Dixie Lee three years old daughter of Mr and Mrs Melvin Smith former Dillon residents following an appendicitis operation.

Routledge Home Damaged By Sunday Fire

Firefighters battled a stubborn Sunday blaze at the Routledge home of Dr. and Mrs. George L. Routledge on South Washington Street. The fire, likely from an overheated furnace, smoldered in basement timbers before discovery and extensive repairs will be needed before the house can be reoccupied. Neighbors moved furnishings to prevent further damage.

Beavers Trounce Sheridan After Anaconda Rough Tilt

Beavers lost 42 to 22 in Anaconda to a fast high school quint, then rebounded at home with an 87 to 10 win over Sheridan. Beavers led 16 to 18 in the Anaconda game. coach Ross used three lineups with Cashmore and Lee as top scorers.

The Dillon Rotary club hosted its annual Christmas gathering Monday night at the Andrus hotel with T. E. Luebbent chairing. Guests included Mrs. W. G. Gilbert and others while the Lyric quartet performed and Rev. Trapitt spoke on the Christmas spirit.

Butte Killer Sought After City Shootings

Sheriff and police keep vigil for H. Knight about 40, accused of killing Police Officer Tom O’Neill and Francis Walsh at a South Main rooming house in Butte. He wounded Officer James Mooney and Florence Benevue, fled in a black Chevrolet with license 1 6391, last seen on Harrison avenue. Police warn to take no chances.

Farmers Union Bond Local elects officers for year

Sallee Family Moves to Dillon From Helena

Mr and Mrs James M Sallee and their family have moved to Dillon making their home in the 127 South Pacific street residence. Mr Sallee calls Dillon one of the best cities in the state. Vigilante range designated for experiments in Madison Valley

The 7,500 acre Vigilante Experimental range in Beaverhead National Forest spans from Cottonwood to Warm Springs Creek east to Ruby station and Gravelly range. It supports 200 cattle and one sheep band, with 80 percent forested and 70 percent grassland. L. F. Watts and Leon C. Hurtt will lead grazing studies to gauge optimal use and costs, with work starting in 1936 and full program by 1937, supplementing Miles City long-range studies.

The son of Mr and Mrs John Lanner suffered a deep head cut last Friday when a car door opened in motion throwing him out. Saturday two collisions at Banitack and Idaho left both cars damaged but drivers unhurt. Elks Host Christmas Party at Beaverhead County Farm

Local Elks led by Exalted Ruler Lee Hoerning held a Christmas party Sunday evening for inmates at the Beaverhead county farm. They distributed pipes tobacco and cigars and presented an entertainment program featuring Danc Waldams on violin, Charles Lloyd on guitar, and the Elks quartet including Dave Hier Paul Bramsman Dale Metlen and W M Stone. Christmas Rush at Dillon Post Office

Clerks and carriers faced a holiday surge at the Dillon post office on Christmas due to a flood of packages letters and cards. Patrons waited in line but accepted delays as budget cuts reduced staff and the total season volume was nearly as large as recent years with perishable parcels delivered on Christmas Day.

A large Dillon crowd watched a Saturday boxing show for the Dillon Boxing Club. Bill Perusich of Butte defeated Tiny Holden in four rounds. Jack McLennon stopped Curly Reese in the second.
