Funeral services for Fredrick A. Gilbert a prominent ranchman of Madison county were held at Magonic hall with large attendance. Born August 31 1881 in Butte he lived in Dillon and Ruby valley later joining Gilbert Livestock. Survived by brothers J H Norman W G and T E Gilbert sisters Mrs George Gosman and Mrs Roy Lekander and many relatives. Interment was in Mountain View cemetery.

Beacon lights completed on air route from Great Falls to Salt Lake
A rotary beacon was installed on the Andrus hotel roof early this week and turned on Monday night as part of completing the night flying route from Great Falls to Salt Lake. Additional beacons stand at Point of Rocks and opposite the Canyon Resort.

Delinquent Taxes Fall Slightly in Recapitulation
Norah Connelley, county treasurer, reports delinquent taxes for 1985 were reduced by about 1500. The office collected 161,916.22 total from half and full payments, with 4278.54 personal. Delinquent taxes totaled 19064.01, split 15086.81 personal and 4027.70 real, compared with 23569.76 from last year.

Holt Installed As Montana Governor After Cooney Death
Elmer Holt of Miles City was sworn in as Montana governor in the reception room following the death of Governor Frank H. Cooney from a heart attack. Holt, born in Savannah Missouri in 1862, had been a state senator pro tem and a longtime Montana resident with a career in ranching real estate and the Northern Pacific. He quipped he would not take the job too seriously and noted his 51 years in the state.

Governor Frank H. Cooney died at a Great Falls hospital after a Sunday heart attack. He and Mrs. Cooney had returned from a Miami meeting of highway officials, with wake and funeral plans in Helena and Missoula. The Beaverhead county leader was born in Mickwood Ontario on December 31 1872 and leaves seven children including Francis Coloney.

Commencement exercises for the first division of the class of 1936 were held Wednesday at 11 in the Normal college auditorium. The program included a processional, vocal duets, a commencement address by Reverend Willis Loar, and diploma ceremonies. Several graduates received two year diplomas or the Bachelor of Education. Paramount Cleaners Owner Injured In Glass Tank Accident
Charles Pilgrim owner and manager of Paramount Cleaners in Dillon was treated at Barrett hospital Tuesday night for head injuries after glass from an overcharged tank shattered a window during a test run. The accident occurred when excessive pressure broke the glass inspection window.
