McKinley Mining Co Prospects Near Argenta

The McKinley Mining Company reports in Dillon about its 100000 share charter and 85000 treasury shares to fund a mill and development. State Board Praises Normal College at Dillon

G T Paul and Dr H H Swain reported to the state board in Helena on the Dillon Normal College’s condition. The board praised the college and outlined plans to complete the main building, seek bonds, and fund grounds and improvements while other state institutions seek direct appropriations for expansions.

Amalgamated Copper Buys Half Interest in Indian Queen Mine

The Amalgamated Copper Company closed a deal for a half interest in the Indian Queen quartz lode, Bridger placer claim, Beaverhead quartz lode, and smelter with a two year option on the rest for 84 553. Down payment was 40 447 a shaft of 1000 feet is planned this winter with work to continue past the sale date. Samuel Baker Jr is named as buyer and Farlin Beaverhead County is cited as benefiting from the agreement.

Rancher J W McLain arraigned on steer theft charge

J W McLain a Birch creek rancher and former Butte businessman was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Rich on stealing a steer from neighbor Frank P Tait. He pleaded guilty and the preliminary hearing was set for Tuesday December 27 attended by Stock Inspector John Collins. Mrs Lena Myers has returned home to Denver.
