Indian Queen mine sale rumors swirl in Birch Creek

Cattle Shipped From Bedrock To Omaha

Dick Evans, foreman for the Jefferson Lime company, was blown to pieces while tamping a shot at a Lime Spur mine near Whitehall. Jack Cavanaugh, working beside him, was thrown but not seriously hurt. Mrs Anna Owsley and daughters headed to Whitehall after telegrams confirming his death.

Sheep Sales Highlight Large Local Livestock Trade
W B Carter bought 1200 ewes from Maurer and Schwartz at the Point of Books. French Bros purchased about 900 lambs and yearlings, 600 700 ewes and 40 fine bucks from Wm Rairden. They will move the stock via Rattlesnake and French creek and winter them at the French ranch on Rattlesnake. The season sees more transfers of this kind than in two prior periods as thousands of sheep have shipped from the county and remaining supply dwindles.
