The forest supervisor announces loanable forestry education materials for schools clubs and communities starting after January 1 1938. The set includes plays lantern slides and silent reels about forests national forests in Montana and the Freeman Lake fire along with films on road building sheep handling seed germination and more. Lists may be obtained from local forest service offices or by writing to the Regional Forester in Missoula Montana.

Delinquent Taxes Show An Increase In 1932
Figures from Miss Bertie Mathews, county treasurer, show the 1932 delinquent tax list about 7000 higher than 1931. Total delinquent taxes for 1932 reached 15039.93, versus 8575.17 in 1931. Collections to date were 176780.11, down from 205952.93 the previous year, reflecting many taxpayers paying only partial amounts.

Firemen Fight House Fire Outside City Limits
Firemen battled a blaze at a ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hansen south of Dillon last Saturday around 2 pm. The crews confined the fire to the west roof, stretched nearly half a mile of hose from a distant hydrant, used chemicals, and saved most furnishings while damages reached several hundred dollars.

Idaho Ranchman Ernest Halvorsen Dies at 63
Idaho ranchman Ernest Halvorsen, age 63, died Friday afternoon near the Montana line. H. M. Brundage summoned the body, it was brought to the city and shipped to Hyrum Utah for burial. He and brother Edwin had farmed the area for 80 years and he is survived by another brother and three sisters.

Quota for Boy Scouts Raised at Dillon Drive
Citizens committee and local fundraisers for Boy Scout troops met in the Andrus dining room to report a definite subscription of the 1933 quota. About 608 dollars were pledged with more to come aiming near 700 dollars to cover the 1933 budget and clear the 1932 deficit. Rev. H N Tragitt Rev F X Lechner and Karl Fairbanks led talks on Scouting as the movement reaches a high point with an optimistic outlook for the year ahead. Dinner was served and about 25 attended.

Time Changes for Oregon Short Line Passenger Trains
Last Monday two Oregon Short Line passenger trains changed times. No 81 northbound now arrives at 6 46 pm instead of 12 28 pm, and No 30 now arrives at 12 20 pm instead of 11 40 am. Mail deadlines follow schedule: 6 30 am weekdays for Train 29 and 6 pm weekdays 5 pm Sundays for Train 32. 31 also affects post office mail deadlines.

Bad check suspects taken in Pocatello
Walter White and J E Henderson alleged to have passed rubber checks on Dillon merchants on November 29. Officers believe the suspects were captured during arresting by Pocatello authorities after the Pahnish Livestock Company checks.

Robbery Suspect Pleads Guilty in Monida Case
Robert Tibbles, arrested ten days earlier as a suspect in the Roselle pool hall burglary in Monida last April, pleaded guilty before Judge Lyman H. Bennett and received a two year sentence at Deer Lodge. He allegedly took a small cash sum and some cigarettes from the burglary.

School census shows growth in Beaverhead County youth
The Beaverhead county census reports more children ages 6 to 21 than last year while under six counts fall. In 6 to 21, 846 boys and 808 girls total 1654. under 6, 243 boys and 237 girls total 480.
