At East Chicago Avenue court in Chicago Mrs Margaret McMillin and Miss Anna Anderson fought a mock bout over an alleged slander charge. The judge Bernard Barasa discharged Anderson. McMillin and Anderson exchanged blows and hairpin clashes before authorities stopped the melee. Edward J McMillin arrived to ease the scene and Mrs McMillin was allowed to leave.
Uncle Dan and two youths discuss the value of military training for young men. They cite a North Carolina example, claim training boosts earning potential and discipline, and advocate passage of a congressional Military Training bill. Deputy Sheriff Jones, while hunting in the mountains near Cross Hill North Carolina, encountered a hoop snake rolling toward him. He dodged as it struck a tree with its tail, the impact leaving a small tail end in the bark. He killed the snake and brought it home as a souvenir.
