Campaign for Boy Scout Fund Opens in Dillon
The Boy Scout finance drive began in Dillon last Monday with twenty five two man teams aiming to finish by Friday. Funds stay in Montana and are deposited locally with quarterly payouts for services. Campaign chair T Lee McCracken reports sold committees and expects an efficient drive while Dillon Scouts plan to attend council winter camp December 27 to 30 at Camp Lowlands.

Revival of mining activity noted by Beaverhead association
The Beaverhead Mining association met at Pearl S. Smith’s offices and reported a regional revival this fall and winter. Ore shipments included two carloads from Midnight, one from Augusta, one from Badger in the Ermont district, and one from Goldbug in Bannack. About 70 workers were in Bannack, with key operators at J. B. mine and mill, Senator, and Hendrix properties. The group backed a $2,500,000 US geological survey, and planned an expert engineer visit next spring backed by a revolving fund for expenses. Three committees were named to lead membership, publicity, and smelter outreach to hire the engineer next year. Madison county mining men urged to join.

Ranch man John Peterson hurt in highway crash near Dyes creek
John Peterson of Grant was brought to the city Sunday evening for surgical treatment of a badly lacerated nose after his car left the Jackson Dillon road near Dyes creek and struck a bank. The machine did not overturn and the driver was shaken, with slippery road likely causing the accident.

Death of Idaho Pioneer David Malinko Reported
Mrs. Chick Wright rushed to Pocatello Monday evening after word of the death of her father David Malinko a pioneer resident fatally injured in an automobile accident. He was believed struck while riding his bicycle from the railroad shops to his home. Malinko was a member of Idaho’s Pioneer society.
