Engineer George Writes From Camp

Our regular soldier fare is wholesome but not luxurious. The allowance is 41 cents a day for each man with butter three or four meals a week and jam occasionally. We never have jam and butter at the same time. No complaint of any sort can be made on the fare. It is clean, good and sufficient and we are healthy and well cared for.
