Miss Clara Hughes and Mr. Arthur Graeter wed at the Selway country home near Dillon in a quiet ceremony attended by immediate relatives. Rev. Dr. A. B. Martin officiated. The couple and guests enjoyed a three course dinner before departing for a Yellowstone Park honeymoon. they will reside in Dillon after September 1. The reception included numerous wedding presents and a deed gift from the groom’s father for three Idaho street lots.

Montana boards report sharp rise in state property values
The state board of equalization in Helena reports total property value excluding railroads at 186,818,785 up from 173,037,729 in 1905. O M Best and W A Jones of Montana Mercantile secured a two year bond and lease on seven Blue Wing district mining claims owned by A P Brown near Barretts station. The New Departure claim, key to the group, has yielded about half a million dollars in ore since 1881. The bond amount is around 30000 dollars.

Rich ore expected below water line at New Departure mine
Mine partners Best and Jones plan to pump water from the New Departure shaft using a gasoline engine and centrifugal pump after consulting Butte mining men. They leased the property last year and expect to expand workforce while pursuing extensive mining near the waterline. A recent ore shipment netted 2511 after freight and smelting, assaying 25.53 ounces of silver per ton with 8-14 percent lead, and the site now includes bunk houses, a cooking house, office, stable, ore bins, dumps, and miles of tunnel trackage.

Death by lightning claims former Melrose resident
Information from Canada arrived in Butte about the death of George Roth age thirty one. He lived in Melrose for over twenty years and had worked in cattle country near Medicine Hat Springs. Lightning struck him and his horse during a July 10 storm. his body was found three days later. He leaves a widow and two young children.

Tragic Death After Horse Stampede Kills 8-Year-Old
Ralph Edward Harrison, son of J. C. Harrison of upper Grasshopper, died after being crushed by a stampeding herd of work horses while opening a gate. Injuries included a crushed pelvis. he was taken to Butte for hospital care following medical attention in Dillon.
