Highest price for hay fed steers tops Spokane sale
John H. Judge of Grasshopper valley sold three carloads of hay fed steers in Spokane Monday at 9.75 per hundred, the wartime high. The steers weighed about 1095 pounds each with light shrinkage due to strong transport, shipment leaving Armstead at 12:20 a.m. and arriving in Spokane by 9:45 p.m.

Funeral services for Civil War veteran John Henry Denny
Funeral services for John Henry Denny, Civil War veteran, who died of heart trouble April 15, were conducted Monday at 3 pm by Beaverhead post of the American Legion from Brundage parlors. Born July 18, 1845 in Kentucky, he served in the Union Army with battles including Fort Dewey and Nashville. He married twice, leaving eight children from the first marriage and several from the second. He settled in Idaho in 1902 and Dillon in 1920 where he resided until death.

Hundreds Visit City Bakery Display in Dillon
The City Baking company welcomed a large crowd last Saturday with visitors touring the plant machinery and baking operations. Mrs. Louis Schmittroth and Mrs. Henry Olsen hosted the lunch service as hundreds enjoyed doughnuts cookies and coffee. over 700 doughnuts were served and the supply ran low by mid afternoon. The crowd praised the giant mixer leaf moulder and oven describing the bakery as among the state's finest.
