H. L. McCaleb, one of Dillon’s best known businessmen, announced selling his store McCaleb’s to Elmo Winn and Harry Graves. The sale is effective immediately as McCaleb retires after 39 years. Hughes and McCaleb began in 1899 at the City Shoe site. Hughes left in 1936. Graves and Winn have long associations with McCaleb, spanning 15 and 11 years respectively.

Sheriff Temple Chases Battery Thieves At Glen dale
Sheriff Paul Temple chased two youths Roy Hudson and Roy Simmons after they were caught stealing battery and tools from Bert Morrison’s track.
