Free Ice Rink Planned for Dillon This Winter
State leaders of the Order of Rainbow for Girls visited Dillon for their regular meeting at the Masonic hall. Guests included Mrs. Maude Bolton, Mrs. Infe Reutter, and Miss Geraldine Casfl. A Dillon winter ice rink is expected at the fairgrounds, to be flooded from a city fire hydrant and supervised by volunteer firefighters, with work to begin in a few days.

Funeral for Frank Francis Held in Wisdom Church
The funeral for Frank Francis, who died at his brother Fred’s home in Darby, was conducted in Wisdom Church with Don Anson officiating. He is remembered for a love of nature, with scripture and poetry readings, and a simple service. Pallbearers were nephews. attendees traveled from Estes Park, Willow Creek, and other areas. Born 1867 in LaPorte Indiana, he taught in the Big Hole and Wyoming in earlier years.

The state board of education in Helena authorized a $181,118 federal loan and grant for rehabilitating three residence halls at Montana State Normal College. $100,000 is a loan and $81,000 a grant. bonds at 4 percent will meet the loan, maturing in 1965. Construction bids are to be advertised immediately for thorough reconstruction and interior changes aided by the Metlen bill.

Beaverhead county ranchers voted overwhelmingly to continue the federal corn hog control program in a statewide referendum held Saturday. Of 29 contract signers voting, three opposed the question, while four of five non-contract signers supported the program.
