Wealth in the Middle West shows Chicago lags in high incomes

The report from the internal revenue commissioner argues wealth is more widely distributed outside Chicago. It notes Illinois districts differ greatly with Chicago totaling 13 000 incomes of 3 000 to 30 000 while Springfield and Peoria districts report far fewer. Canadian Fox Industry Faces Rising Prices and Exports

The season sees 219 live foxes valued at $820,000 shipped from Edmonton to eastern Canada and the U S for breeding. Ten black pups sold for $80,000 to a New York firm. Many young foxes die after capture and prices have fallen 25 to 50 percent due to plentiful supply from Alaska Yukon and the northwest territories. A western firm plans to discontinue eastern shipments and establish a western Alberta farm as four foxes are already there. Prices may rise once the young foxes leave their dams and can only be trapped individually.
