The Butte High Miners overwhelmed the Normal and Beaverhead high Bulldogs Friday afternoon in a 53 to 0 rout led by Erickson. The game showcased dominant offense and stifling defense throughout the matchup.

Beavers drop to Gallatin county high school 20-0 after a one sided game. Dillon football teams suffered a disastrous Friday with State Normal routed 53-0 by School of Mines and Beavers defeated without challenge by a fast Gallatin squad.

New Lutheran Church Opens in Illon Corner and Pacific

Illon's Lutheran community celebrates the opening of a new cottage style church at the corner of Center and Pacific streets. The building finished last week with interior and exterior work ongoing. a parsonage is planned and Presbyterian remodeling continues while services resume at the courthouse.

State University Expenses Up to 1 050 000 in Next Two Years

Montana’s state board of education announced a request to appropriate 1 050 000 for the Greater University of Montana. Governor J E Erickson Chancellor M A Brannon and board members met in Butte to approve the plan. To raise funds the legislature would boost the millage tax to three mills, half a mill more than the prior two years.

Frank Eliel Named Head Relief Body

Frank Eliel was named chair man of the executive commit tee of the Dillon Associated Charities at a meeting Thursday evening, succeeding W. T. Scully who could not serve this year. Eliel will supervise winter relief work and a winter program was adopted. A fund canvass will be conducted by volunteers. Last year the drive received strong community support and Eliel expressed confidence in a similar response. Distribution of funds and aid plans were outlined.

The Examiner publishes the complete sample ballot for the county for the November eighth election. Voters can study and mark it, with a note urging readers to pass it to friends. It lists five parties and state candidates from minor parties.

Armistice Day plans outlined by Eaverhead American Legion

The Eaverhead American Legion post lays out its Armistice Day observance for November 11 with a parade orations a morning football game daylight fireworks possible pageant and an evening banquet for ex servicemen a dance and other activities. The Boy Scout committee grows to five with Dr. R D Curry and J C Jeppson joining. The post will help organize a Dillon skating rink project and assist the Dillon Associated Charities by collecting vegetables and supplies for needy families.

Elks Lodge Plans Dance Next Saturday Night

Dillon Elks after a regular meeting at the Odd Fellows hall completed plans for a dance to be held Saturday night at the city hall auditorium. The event is described as one of the season’s most enjoyable, inviting every member to attend with a guest couple. Music will be by the Baxter Tonney orchestra. The lodge also arranged a special meeting Tuesday night November 8 after the regular session to receive returns from the general election.

20 Districts Cut by Action Legislators

Elena October 22 revision of the 1929 judicial district plan will remove seven district judges from the list. The changes reduce 20 districts with 30 judges to 17 districts and 23 judges by January 1933. Prior actions trimmed salaries and eliminated several incumbents in July and the primary.

Beaverhead Legion Post Hosts Dance For Boy Scout Fund

Members of the Beaverhead post of the American Legion hosted a well attended dance at the city hall auditorium Saturday night. Proceeds go to the Boy Scout fund to cover troops expenses for the past quarter and avoid a public campaign. Music was provided by the Baxter-Tonrey orchestra.
