Sermon at Baptist Church Links Church and State After Roosevelt Attack

The Sunday service hosted three party candidates addressing the Milwaukee assassination of ex President Roosevelt. Speakers included Harlow Pease Republican district judge candidate Burt Adams Tower Progressive superintendent candidate and Joseph C. Smith Democrat state senator candidate. The event urged patriotism civic duty and education of immigrants with a nonpartisan framing and a violin solo by Thomas Kerr.

Former Dillonite Peter Tibado Dies in California

Peter Tibado aged 81, long a Dillon area resident, died in Sawtelle California after a two week illness. He served in the Civil War with the 1st Maine Heavy Artillery and is survived by a wife in Dillon and a son and daughter in Maine. Burial was in Soldiers' Home cemetery.
