Joseph Wall Dies at His Ranch Home

Beaverhead county longtime rancher Joseph Wall died at his Dell area ranch early last Thursday from a paralytic stroke. Born November 26, 1856 in Pittsburgh, he came to Beaverhead in 1887 and lived there forty years, leaving many friends in shock. (Continued on Page 5)

Beavers Meet Powell County High at Home Friday

Dillon gridiron fans will see three local football teams at Dillon athletic field this week. Beaverhead county high faces Powell county high Friday afternoon in what may be the Beavers only home game this season. The Deer Lodge eleven and Beaver aggregation appear evenly matched in district play, promising a hard-fought contest as Coach Gunderson works to shore up weaknesses. Montana State Normal College meets Weber on Saturday, with details continued on page four.

Golfers to Play for the Bats at Dillon Country Club

A Sunday golf tournament at Dillon Country Club pits 36 players in two teams of 18 with a dinner prize at stake. Captains are Larry Price and Hiram Brugage. Play begins at 9 am for 18 holes, with matches every five minutes. Each entrant contributes $2 to a general fund, and the winning team will have their money refunded after the event.

Oregon Short Line Adds Live Stock Trains On Tuesdays and Saturdays

The Oregon Short Line announces weekly extra live stock trains on Tuesdays and Saturdays starting October 18.
