Hunters Urge Caution As 1934 Season Opens

Hunters must follow daylight hours and obtain a duck stamp before sunrise. The season opens at sunrise Oct 5 with stamps available at the post office for $1 in addition to the hunting license. Sunrise and sunset times are listed for the locality through late October, with migratory bird regulations summarized for the season. Beaverhead county reports record voter registrations at 4 120, led by Dillon precincts, with 18 candidates for county offices and various shifts in precincts and Barretts Elkhorn changes noted.

The State Bank team captained by Sam Wilkinson defeated the First National Bank squad in the men’s foursome tournament at the Dillon Country Club course last Sunday. Guy Combes led the losing team as hosts prepare a 9 dinner for the winners.

Wedding of G E Armour’s Daughter at Deer Lodge

Dr and Mrs G E Armour announce the marriage of daughter Juanita to Edison W Kent. The ceremony on Sept 13 at Deer Lodge was witnessed by the Armours and Miss Peggy Kelly. Juanita is a Scott High School Toledo and Ohio State graduate and a member of Alpha Xi sorority. Kent is the son of Mr and Mrs Kent.

Last Shipment of County Cattle Out Tomorrow

The final government cattle shipment from Monida will depart tomorrow under County Agent Bernard Williams. About 2,400 head from Beaverhead county have moved to Hanson Packing in Butte for relief distribution, with lines running from Monida Lima Divide Dillon and Armstead under government supervision. Appraisers included Frank Rife James Doyle and B. W. Emerick plus a state extension representative. no news on the sheep program.

Dan Mooney a Beaverhead rancher and former county sheriff was elected chairman of the Beaverhead Republican Central Committee at a courthouse meeting. Joseph E. Big Hole Basin Preserve Established by Montana Commission

The Montana state fish and game commission authorized the Big Hole Basin Preserve at a Livingston meeting. No protests were entered at Wisdom during the public hearing. Home demonstration meetings run this week in the basin under Miss Lilian Stone with clubs organized at Jackson Armstead Lima Wisdom Wise River and Wise River hosts the final session tomorrow.

Dankowski duo on forty seventh annual auto trip

Mr and Mrs Fred V Dankowski spent last week in Dillon en route to the south on the last lap of their forty seventh annual auto trip. They tour the United States and Canada in their Nomad house on wheels spending six months yearly outdoors. They plan Yellowstone park and Wyoming visits then Los Angeles for winter with another summer voyage next year.

A deer fled a lion during a rainstorm and bolted toward a Dry Wolf canyon home dooryard. Alfred Hinkle rushed out to see the commotion as the Non' vanished over the hill, leaving a bloody trail as the deer managed to escape wounded.
