Sheep growers praise an ideal year with record wool prices
The county sheep industry enjoyed perfect conditions from lambing to range grazing. Prices for wool climbed to 23 24 cents per pound, averaging about 20. The county sold 1 429 311 pounds of wool for 281 171 21 dollars in revenue. A single future contract for next year was noted, with prices around 21 1/6 cents.

Houk Murder Trial Underway In Jackson Saloon Case
The district court opened the Houk murder trial in Jackson over the October 13 killing of Owen Ellis at Lloyd and Dunbar saloon. Twelve witnesses are expected. the jury was seated by 11, with state attorneys Melton and Barbour arguing, Norris and Robison for Houk.
