A county wide auxiliary to aid Barrett Hospital is to be organized by Dillon women led by Mrs Loreen Richards. A coffee hour Monday afternoon December 17 at the Andrus hotel dining room invites interested residents to discuss sewing nursery work and ward support with a nominal membership fee and a fundraising silver offering.
Shaffer's Bakery of Dillon Montana received a $10,000 business loan from the Small Business Administration to modernize and expand its facility and increase production. The approval was announced by SBA administrator Wendell Barnes in Washington. The company employs four people and will add staff as expansion proceeds.

Local winners advance to state contest in Dillon, December 6, hosted by Dillon Jaycees. State winner earns all expense trip to national contest in Washington.
Members of the Presbyterian Men’s club will gather at the church parlors Tuesday December 4 at 6 30 p m for a dinner. William Bruer from the high school will discuss what athletics mean to the school system in high school and college followed by a general discussion.
Lou Larsen, chairman of the Beaverhead Chamber of Commerce retail committee, called a meeting for Thursday night at 4 oclock at the chamber offices to decide hours for the Christmas shopping season and determine which stores will be open during the period.
Dillon Lodge No. 1554 BPOE announces a memorial service this Sunday December 2 at 8:00 p.m. at the Elks Hall. The event features a processional, organist, invocation by Dan Carpita, memorial address by Prof. L A Lawrence WMCE, Taps and echo, and a closing ceremony with the lodge officers and Girls Ensemble.

The Rt. Rev. Chandler W. Sterling will formally institute the Rev. E. W. Andrews as rector of St. James Episcopal Church in a service Thursday night at 8. Evensong precedes the rite with Rev. James Holt of Butte, Rev. Thomas Sargent of Anaconda, and Rev. John Hay of Virginia City officiating. The bishop will preach and present the church keys. a reception follows. This marks Sterling’s first institution service since his consecration and St James’ first with him. Sterling is Montana’s new Bishop Coadjutor, to assist Bishop Daniels and succeed him next February. He hails from Illinois with past work in Wisconsin, Illinois and Nebraska.
Beaverhead County Tuberculosis Association drives fund raising with Christmas Seals mailed to residents. Chairs Mrs. T. F. McFadden and Mrs. E. J. Donovan lead a program emphasizing sanitation in food handling and x ray examinations. County funds totaling 240 dollars spent since June aid the campaign with five sites achieving 100 percent TB testing.
The third in a five part national assembly series will be held Friday morning November 30 at 9:00 in the high school auditorium. Parents and friends of students are invited to attend the return performance of The Mississippians a quartet of jubilee singers led by Thomas J. Pruitt. The group previously performed on NBC from San Francisco. National Assembly programs are covered by student activity tickets.
James Selway of Trail Creek has sold his Union Oil distributorship and service stations at Salmon to Miles and Bert Schneider and Bill Walker. The station leases to Gale Daniels. Selway plans to resume ranching in Montana.
DeMolay chapter hosts its annual Mother and Son banquet at 6 30 pm at the Methodist church with Frank Williss as toastmaster and Dan Carpita leading songs. Dr Wendell Pourdstone spoke at the first meeting of the month stressing individual recognition. Bill McNeil will give the welcoming address. Mrs Garrison delivers the Mothers Club response. December initiates and their mothers are guests.
