Calendar Cleaned Up as Dillon Court Says Calendar Ready

The November term of the district court will close soon after a busy session. Judge Callaway kept the calendar in excellent shape while a full trial jury sat with few trials. Many criminal cases ended in pleas, civil suits settled out of court, and several matters postponed to the May term.

Friends of Ralph Clark son of W G Clark report fear for his safety as a Ralph Clark clerk in a Port Blakely mill was listed among the missing aboard the steamer Dix sunk in Seattle harbor. No word has come from the Clarks in Seattle. he may have recently left Ballard for Port Blakely.

New Big Hole Forest Reserve Established in Montana

Washington dispatch notes nine forest reserves created in four months following forest service studies. The Big Hole reserve, spanning Silver Bow and Beaverhead counties along the continental divide, protects watersheds for the Big Hole and Beaverhead rivers and supports about 6 500 settlers with timber and fuel needs.

Death in Accident Near Helena Street Crossing

French resident Alex Beshon died from injuries after being caught between drawheads of two cars while crossing railroad tracks on Helena street. An inquest by Corosier Walker and a coroner’s jury ruled death accidental. Joe Cardoni, witness and Dillon band leader, helped extract him and summon doctors Bond and Poindexter. Beshon, about sixty five, had lived in the area for decades and recently abstained from alcohol. Mountain View cemetery burial followed a Saturday funeral.

Flynn Brothers Target Big Coeur d Alene Mine Deal

Terrence and Thomas Flynn, prominent Beaverhead valley ranchers, await a major mine group bonding in the Coeur d’Alene district known as the Flynn group.
