Dennis Haggerty Killed In Work Accident at Washoe Plant
Dennis Haggerty a longtime Dillon resident and former chief of police died after a fall from a corrugated iron roof at the Washoe smelter in Anaconda. He and supervisor Robert Templeton fell 35 feet. Templeton died at the hospital and Haggerty suffered fatal injuries including crushed ribs and lung wounds. He lived at 217 East Commercial Avenue with his wife and eight children and multiple married daughters.

Junction rancher injured in Bedrock wagon accident
W. J. Stroud of Junction Idaho was run over by a heavily loaded wagon at Bedrock Monday after his team kicked free. He suffered broken ribs, facial and chest injuries, and shoulder injuries. He was brought to Dillon for treatment and records indicate he is slowly improving under Dr. Poindexter care despite possible internal injuries.

Death of Martha Alice Rash From Tonsillitis Epidemic
Martha Alice Rash fourteen daughter of ranchman Harry Rash of the upper Blacktail died last Thursday from blood poisoning linked to a tonsillitis epidemic in the community. She was sick about two weeks, funeral held Saturday in Mountain View cemetery in Dillon. Other Rash children and neighbors have tonsillitis with no other serious cases reported. Thos H Hamilton of Horse Prairie and his wife passed through Dillon en route from Minneapolis. Hamilton is reported ill.

Strike at Ajax Mine Signals Big Future for Montane Ore
The Ajax mine in the Big Hole basin tapped the vein in the lower workings indicating growth from prospect to major producer. Superintendent A J Noyes reported high grade, free milling ore across tunnels with pay ranges from 8 to 100 per ton and a new tramway contract to cut transport costs. The mine closes for winter and will resume next spring with expanded development and power drills.
