Rotary and Big Hole basin Lions club members gathered for a joint dinner with 72 attendees. The Saturday night event featured talks by members of both clubs and musical selections, signaling ongoing cooperative ties between the groups.
The Dillon Associated Charities and the county commissioners urge all private helpers to notify a central committee member before aiding needy families. This aims to prevent waste from duplicate donations while preserving goodwill. Central committee members include Ww. T. Scully Harold M. Warner Rev. R. Q. Shannon Lambert Ellel Rev. F. X. Lechner and several others.
The big game season is nearing a close as local sportsmen make a last attempt for a buck. Snow desired by hunters has arrived only in small amounts since the season opened last Sunday. Weather has been unfavorably viewed by nimrods up to now. The season officially ends next Sunday.
Mrs. Fred Utzman of Deer Lodge district president and Mrs. Charles Miller of Butte district secretary paid the local auxiliary during its Monday night meeting at city hall. They conferred with members on plans for months ahead and reviewed the state program along with Red Cross and relief work.
In Annack a ghostly figure and a second masked robber struck a soft drink parlor owned by Monte Burdick last Wednesday night. They forced five men to the wall, rifled pockets and the till, and escaped with $800 in cash.
Eleven new members were initiated by the Dillon volunteer fire department at the regular meeting last Tuesday night. An impromptu gun party staged by C. H. Cast erline and Ott Gordon surprised and frightened many attendees before confirming it was only a mock event. EAVERHEAD county high school Future Farmers held their annual father and son banquet with faculty guests, featuring an all project menu and student talks on beef cattle, potatoes, swine, and sheep. Carl Hansen presided and spoke on work of the group. Bernard Williams discussed project work. W. W. Wahl spoke, followed by project presentations. Evening included cards and games.

Illon and Dillon unite to mark the 13th anniversary of the 1918 armistice with a sunrise program led by Beaverhead post of the American Legion. Anvil salute at 7 a.m. signals ceremonies as Don Gilbert, a Dillon Boy Scout, sounds reveille and flags rise at key locations. A parade features the drum and bugle corps of Dillon.
Montana State Normal College alumni association held their quarterly banquet at Hanson cafe in the Andrus hotel last Saturday. Mrs. E. Davis presided and welcomed guests. Miss Marcia Seeber visited as guest from the YWCA.
P. G. Sessions, employed at Woods Livestock company ranch north of town, was badly hurt last Friday when his horse fell with him. He was taken to Barrett hospital for treatment of internal injuries.
County Treasurer Bertie Mathews reported stronger collections in the first five days of November compared with last year. A total of 8,761.30 dollars came from 176 taxpayers versus 7,470.06 dollars from 80 last year, with the first half payment deadline set for Monday, November 30.
Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Campbell of Reichle bought the Country Inn north of Ditton on the Butte highway from Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Christensen. The deal includes the residence several buildings and five acres. The residence will be prepared for dinners and parties while Christensens continue managing the ranch and convert a large building into a home.
City council held its regular monthly session in November at the city hall. Audited claims include General Fund items from Thomas E. Luebben to Theo F. McFadden and salaries for Charles E. B. Nelson, with various suppliers and utilities listed among payments.
