Dillon Hereford Sale Crowned With Top Prices In Montana
The Dillon Hereford sale and the preceding Sunday sale drew stockmen from across Montana. Twenty five bulls were sold from 26 leading Hereford breeders with top price to Clemon Brothers of Jackson for Blocky at 550 dollars. Park Trail Ranch paid 475 for Madison Domino 59th, Cline Brothers sold Cautious Advance for 400, and The Duke from W S Tash brought 375 to George Harrison. The average price topped 200 dollars. Fred Reppert, with H B Sager and Bernard Williams assisting, led the auction. Tash bulls won grand championship and top honors in several divisions. reserve went to Jumping Horse ranch.

R E Bateman, district agent for the biological survey in Billings, reports widespread losses from July 1 to Oct 1. Bears killed 487 sheep and various livestock while coyotes took 746 sheep and other wildlife. Montana hunters killed 903 coyotes and 57 deer. Bateman cites need for more hunters but limited funds.
