Beaverhead County Pioneer Association holds annual meeting in Dillon with new officers elected. A banquet followed at the Masonic Temple with C. Wing and A. Browne leading, while a letter from Chief Justice Pemberton is read.
A large Dillon audience attended the Beaverhead Bimetallic Union meeting in the county court house to organize the new club. Edwin Norris was elected chairman and Hdwite Norris named president. A secretary and executive committee were chosen, and plans to recruit members and hold addresses were set. Also reported were comments on Prof Steere’s push for delegation and a note on the death of A. Sears, a long time Beaverhead resident and former probate judge.
Doings in Bannack reports Frank and James Blair visiting from the Prairie and other residents enjoying social and mining activity. The column notes new wheels, arrivals from Amesville and Dillon, ore shipments, milling shifts, and preparations for drying and treating ore. It also records the death of Mr. Sears, an early settler, and his burial plans in the local cemetery.
