Dillon School Board Reviews Teacher Appointments and Salaries

The Dillon school board met Friday evening to select a corps of teachers for the next year and raise salaries. Current teachers were re employed with fixed monthly pay for the principal, assistant principal, and several teachers. an assistant principal candidate withdrew, leaving one vacancy to be filled from about twenty applicants. State Superintendent Steere praised Dillon High School as well run, reflecting credit on Principal Wall and the board.

Local union of the National Bi metalic Union to be organized in Dillon tomorrow calls a meeting for Thursday May 21 at the courthouse to form a local bi metallic union auxiliary to the American Bi metallic Union. The Examiner urges silver friends to attend for an educational nonpartisan effort supporting remonetization of silver.

Durrant Case Bill of Exceptions Not Filed Yet

San Francisco dispatch reports the bill of exceptions in the Durrant case has not been filed in the supreme court. District Attorney Barnes says even if the prosecution wins every point of appeal, Durrant could not be executed before November, and the execution may be postponed to next year. The statement implies delays in the appeals process.
