Montana state prison escapee Norman Dykes, 26, fled Deer Lodge last Thursday in John E. Henry's car. Officers traced him Sunday via his sale of belongings through the Big Hole Basin to Leadore pass where Idaho officers picked up the trail. Dykes, serving a Garfield county grand larceny sentence of two years, faced possible early release next October.

John Gloss 56 a Dillon resident and former rancher of Bull Creek near Jackson died Monday morning at Barrett hospital after a brief illness. He was born July 15 1891 in Pocahontas Illinois and served in World War I. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 pm in Brundage chapel with Rev L D Smith officiating.
