Union Pacific Ties Deep in Dillon History
Dillon and Beaverhead County owe their origin and growth to the Union Pacific Railroad. From 1880, the railroad shaped local industry, commerce, and community life, helping mining ranching and trade expand. The UP supported towns, funded the Beaverhead Museum site, and employs about 180 residents, tying fate to the region.
