League Endorses Mayor Candidate and Second Ward Alderman
The municipal League of Dillon announced it will not field a regular ticket but will back a non partisan citizens' caucus. It endorsed John F. Bishop for mayor and incumbent William Phillips for re election as alderman of the second ward. A committee from each ward will study likely alderman candidates. Butte March 19 The street railway system suspended all operations at midnight. One hundred fifty motormen and conductors are out of work as a strike by barnmen demands raises from 3 to 3.59 dollars for eight hours. Several utilities have granted the raises but the city gas and street railway company will not pay. Mines aided by other groups say they can continue. The strike has not yet disrupted mining.
