In 1928 Beaverhead Jefferson and Madison Counties report delinquent taxes with 869 parcels owing 36 061 44 in taxes and penalties. 198 parcels remain delinquent totaling 32 996 02 with Boston Montana Corp owing 18 072 36. Also an apportionment order fixes stenographer salaries for 1928 across the three counties with travel expenses and monthly payments starting January 1928.

The County Board held its regular March 7 1928 meeting with all members present. County Assessor B W Emerick received a 60 day state leave of absence. Reports approved include County Farm 22 inmates, County Fair Association 4.50, County High School 8329.88, District Court 113.60, and payroll 2450.00. Warrants were drawn for printing stamps supplies repairs and utilities for the courthouse and jail plus coal and lighting costs and other items for various funds.
