Death of Clair Baker Shocks Dillon Community

Clair Baker aged 23 died suddenly in Los Angeles after a brief illness. Friends organized condolences and arrangements with H. V. Platt of the Southern Pacific and N. L. Hall overseeing. Born in Echo Utah on November 20 1881 he lived in Dillon two years after working in various clerical posts. Interment was at Mountain View with a large funeral attendance from Lima friends.

Spring cattle trading opens with feeder contracts in basin markets

Local beef cattle trading began last week with several deals in the basin. Prices run around three and one half cents per pound, higher than last year’s game time. John Moran of Wisdom contracts 200 head at four cents to be delivered April 1. East demand for fat feeders is strong, with Basin beef anticipated as prime by early next month.

Pioneer Chris Darnutzer Dies in Montana Neighborhood

Chris Darnutzer aged 77 died at his Blaine home Sunday. He was a Civil War veteran and Methodists steward, left a widow and three children, including daughter Mrs. Clark of Salt Lake. He led wagon trains across the plains, endured Sioux attacks near the Big Horn, later ranching with his sons in Montana.

Important Meeting of Dillon Mothers Club on Kindergarten
