Hazelbaker returned from Washington with news of a 60 percent cut in forest grazing fees, a move praised by Montana stockmen that will save Beaverhead National Forest users about $20,000 annually.

Flora W. Duncan Former Resident Sheridan Is Dead
Flora W. Duncan, former Madison county resident, died in Long Beach California last Friday at age 65. Born in Philipsburg in 1867 to Rev Hugh Duncan a pioneer Methodist minister, she was known in Dillon among old residents. Her body reached Dillon and was taken to Sheridan for Eastern Star services with interment in Sheridan cemetery.

Monroe Bucy was sentenced to four years in state prison by Judge Lyman H. Bennett after a trial on charges of complicity in burning haystacks in Centennial valley two years ago. He allegedly paid Pat Young and Emil Borgeson $200 to set fires on Neighbors and Jones ranches. over 400 tons of hay burned. Young and Borgeson testified against Bucy. He claimed he was the victim of a frameup.
