Timothy J. Sullivan a 38 year old roofer drowned when a hand operated ferry overturned on the Big Hole river near Dewey. Sheriff Paul H Temple Under sheriff John Troupe and Deputy Dellar Gordon with Silver Bow county officers and local ranchers have searched daily since Sunday June 19. A canoe team from Dillon scouted the canyon but the body remains missing.

Well known matron Mary Hauser dies at Dillon home
Mrs. Mary Hauser, longtime Dillon matron, died Thursday at her Thomsen Avenue home after a two year illness. She was 73, born in Germany in 1864, came to Montana 30 years ago and lived in Butte, Glen, and Dillon. Survived by son George Hauser of Bartlesville Oklahoma and sister Mrs. Fred Hagen of Pierce City Missouri. Funeral held at St Rose Catholic Church with interment in Mountain View Cemetery. Services also conducted at home by Hollywood Circle Neighbors of Woodcraft.
