Democratic Convention Gives Bryan Setback in Race for Nomination
Baltimore dispatch reports William Jennings Bryan defeated for temporary chairmanship as 579 to 610 vote. Parker wins. Clarke supporters shift, signaling a possible Clark nomination or a dark horse contender. Conservatives seek to block Roosevelt third party, while Bryan remains a rallying factor for a progressive platform.
