City Water Safe After Dam Break Tests

Death toll shakes Dillon as Beaverhead pioneer dies
John C. Brenner aged 82, a prominent Beaverhead pioneer, died of a heart attack in his Butte hotel apartment. He moved to Beaverhead County in 1883, buying a 5000 acre ranch. His wife Mrs Brenner was at his side at his passing. Continued on Page 8.

He was previously treated at Mayo Brothers in Rochester and underwent gall stones surgery in Butte two weeks ago. Despite a brief improvement, his condition worsened and doctors held little hope in recent days.

Bridge Reconstruction Planned After Wise River Flood

Commissioner Gosman of Lima says the Beaverhead flood caused 100000 or more in road and bridge damage. National Red Cross Offers Aid for Flood Areas
N Stevenson, president of the local Red Cross chapter, received two telegrams from national headquarters in St. Louis offering assistance to residents of Wise River and the Big Hole basin flood zones. He said the damage is immense but believes most affected can carry on with support. He reported telephoning Wise River residents to coordinate help.
