Pioneers Hatch Plans For Winter Wood Pile At Sun River Crossing
We planned long four foot high piles for easy measurement and cut four foot lengths. Much of the timber was intended for store and settler use at Sun River Crossing who would come in winter to haul it away by crossing on the ice from the island or other wood piles downstream. We built a cabin there and stocked a little grub with plenty of wild game to sustain us.

Montana Wolf A Film Star in Northland Pictures
The Highwood mountains near Great Falls supply timber wolves for First National Pictures. Trixie the gray timber wolf, captured by Ranger Stacy Eckert, stars opposite Strongheart in films from Trimble and Muffin. Pup sales to the film colony promise more wolves, while reports note a giant white wolf leader and several den dens with many pups in the area.
