Heart Attack Fatal To Traveling Buyer
Stricken with a heart attack a few miles north of Lima on Friday, Jesse Luke of Stockton California aged about 60 years, passenger on Train 29 en route to Stanley North Carolina, died suddenly. Coroner Raymond Schwartz took the body from the train. Luke, a retired cattle buyer, was well known in the southern states for years. A son Leroy claimed the body in Dillon, and the body was shipped to Stockton for burial. Five other sons survive.

Dillon Youths Enlist in Navy Under School Program
Jackie H. Coppin and James L. Roberts, sons of local residents, enlisted in the U S Navy under the high school training program for a three year tour. They discussed lumber sale regulations timber volumes disposal of slash fire prevention and methods for estimating harvested lumber.

Beaverhead county students at tending colleges in Montana earned multiple top awards in diplomas and honors. Graduates from Montana State University Dillon include Gordon Wolfram Armstead and others in business, geology, and journalism. World War Vet Dee A. Patton Dies After Long Illness
Dee A. Patton prominent Montana telephone manager died Wednesday at the Montana Veterans hospital in Dillon after six months of illness. Born November 16, 1889 in Arkansas, he served in World War I with the AEF and later held key posts from Glasgow to Dillon. He led the Harlowton exchange and Dillon office before retiring in 1944. He leaves a widow and two sons, John and Dee. The body was moved to Brundage funeral home in Dillon.

Baby flown to Portland doing fine
David McLaren a 13 month old boy from Dillon was flown to Portland in a Beechcraft Bonanza for meningitis and possible brain abscess. Pilot John C Hoxsey and Stanchfield of Dillon accompanied the parents. On return the doctor said the tot is progressing nicely and no operation needed. The Portland airport was flooded by recent rains. The trip took about three hours fifteen minutes each way.

Foursome Opens Golf Season at Country Club
The Dillon Country Club opened the golf season with a two ball mixed foursome drawing about 30 members. Mrs Dave Willams and Leonard Schulz won the event amid comments on fairways and greens in good condition. An opening team race is planned for Thursday evening with 5 PM tee times and a spring party set for Saturday night with committee chairpersons named.
