Field Day Exercises a Big Success at Dillon Campus

The Third annual Field Day and Play Festival at Montana State Normal College in Dillon on May 31 drew many spectators. Students performed dances and drills led by Miss Maxwell and Miss Dunlevy, with a silver trophy and gold medal awarded for top displays. Trainers and judges included Miss Ross, Rev Hooker, and Mr Callaway, while Miss Graeter provided piano accompaniment.

Pretty Wedding in Wisdom at Helming House

Miss Effie L. Willard and Delmar Canfield wed at the Wisdom Presbyterian church on May 31. Rev. Dugald Bell officiated as guests included Miss Clara Pendergast, and Willard pupils witnessed a pink ribbon bridesmaid and a rice shower. The couple will reside in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Dillon man acquitted in smuggling case

Christopher Snyder of Dillon Montana was acquitted in a United States district court on a smuggling charge. He was indicted after the steamship Manchuria arrived in Honolulu following arrests of two stewards for smuggling opium. Snyder had been accused of aiding the stewards in landing the drug.
