The board authorized removal of all highway guardrail signs advertising on the Dillon North road and pledged penalties for future infractions. A Birch Creek petition moved Holling place to Elchie school, approved. The treasurer moved bridge fund balance to the road fund. Health-aurae positions discussed for the next year. Board adjourned after a three day meeting.

Craig Cornell Dies At His Beaverhead Home

Craig Cornell Montana pioneer and Beaverhead County resident for sixty four years died at his Dillon home after weeks of illness. A funeral is planned for 2 30 pm at the family home with Rev H B Ricketts officiating.

Ted Renfro of Dell led the Sheridan registered shoot with 148 of 150 as the high gun. Otto Schultz Sheridan, Joe Lattimer Butte, and W R Wilcoxson Great Falls tied for second at 145, Tolson Sheridan was third with 141. Tolson led handicap with 49 of 50, Hillett Sheridan and Pease Twin Bridges 48, Sheriff Angus McLeod Butte 47, Otto Schultz 46.

Dillon Volunteer Fire Dept Fast Response to Creamery Fire

The Dillon volunteer fire department reached the scene within 51 seconds of the siren last Friday for a blaze at the old creamery north of the city. Firefighters were not stationed at city hall where trucks are kept, yet the fire was extinguished with no material damage. The origin remains undetermined, with a theory blaming a cigarette dropped by a traveling box tar worker frequenting the abandoned building.

Former Lima Doctor Dr Lawrence R Fox Dies in St Joseph Mo

According to the Times from McCamnal ville Ohio Dr Lawrence R Fox a former Lima resident died in late May at St Joseph Missouri after a pneumonia attack. He was known in southern Lima County for years of medical practice and had been practicing his profession prior to death. Interment occurred in St Joseph.

Jack Rabbit Mine Sold to Standard Silver Lead Company

One of the region’s major recent mining deals saw the Jack Rabbit mine four miles east of Melrose purchased by the Standard Silver-Lead Company of Spokane. The mine, formerly owned by the McLaughlin Brothers, had been shipping ore to nearby markets as its purchase closed last week.

Wisdom lodge No. 61 A F and A M will hold corner stone ceremonies on June 9 with Grand Master Marshall of Missoula and architect Arnold of Butte attending. Emerson Hughes Goes To Harlem To Recover Ship

Emerson Hughes, Dillon air pilot, left early this week for Harlem to salvage parts of his Waco plane burned there this spring. He believes the engine and most of the fuselage are undamaged and will be repaired, with parts transported back by truck to Dillon.
