Thomas Sillers, capitol custodian in Helena, has planted a state wide flower garden around the General Meagher statue area. Red geraniums and many marguerites brighten the grounds both north and south of the statue, with plans to replace last year’s geraniums in capitol offices next fall.
Red Lodge resident Bernice Lay captured the individual bread making title in Carbon county. The report notes local competition and honors within the traditional county event.
James Murray heirs and Miss Mary Murphy plan to contest the Montana millionaire James E. Murray estate. Stuart Haldorn, Mary Hammon Murray and others are named as principal beneficiaries of a trust held by Monidair Trust Company, with the widow receiving remainder after the trust.
The late Montana magnate’s holdings are valued around seven and a half million dollars with Haldorn set to inherit about five million, nephews and niece two million, and Mrs. Murray the remainder.
