Dillon budget shows total city expenses for the next fiscal year at 450263.98, down 3650.28 from the prior period. A three day sage chicken season will begin Sunday August 4 in Bea verhead county after a Bea verhead Sportsmen's association petition. Only sage chickens may be killed. limit three birds per hunter per day and three in possession. The season runs August 4 to 6.

Twenty one Girl Scouts accompanied by leader Miss Marie Latham nurse Miss Louise Birrer and cook Mrs Harry Williams traveled to Elkhorn Springs Beaverhead county for a week long outing. Activities include hiking swimming first aid training and other Girl Scout duties as the group shares an enjoyable and instructive program.

Clarke Family Plans Morrison Lake Trip to Idaho

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Clarke and two sons Bill and Junior, along with Boyd Quick, left Monday for Morrison Lake to fish and then drive to Idaho. Miss Dorothy Gelhaus left this morning for Alamosa Colorado after a vacation in Dillon with her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Gelhaus.

W A Lovell prominent Palon man and deputy state stock inspector based in Butte was injured when his Nash sedan crashed over an embankment near Butte this afternoon. Details of the accident were not available.

Parade plans to be decided at Friday meeting

Preliminary parade plans for Dillon's centennial celebration will be discussed at a general meeting Friday evening at city hall. Citizens are urged to attend as organizers seek a historical float theme featuring early Dillon and Beaverhead County events. Mayor Roscoe Cornell offers to donate longhorn steers if bullwhackers can be found to yoke the animals.

Pioneer of Bannack Claimed by Grim Reaper

Archie Gibson Beaverhead county pioneer died Sunday at his niece’s home in Butte after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at White funeral home with Rev Groeneveld officiating, and interment followed at Mountain View cemetery, Butte. Gibson, born July 12, 1846 in Endfield Connecticut, arrived in Beaverhead county 45 years ago settling at Bannack and became involved in mining operations.

Thomas H. Dubois, a well known Dillon rancher, accepted the Republican nomination for state representative in a notice filed with Clerk and Recorder John S. Baker. He received 57 write-in votes. He will face Democrat Joe Metlen, Armstead stockman and former Beaverhead representative, who ran unopposed on the ticket.

Beaverhead county officials convened in multiple special and regular sessions beginning July 7 1930. The board approved minutes and allocated funds for printing and expenses while declaring Centennial Valley an insect pest district due to a grasshopper outbreak. Free Glee Club Concert At Normal Friday Night

The Montana State Normal College glee club will present a free concert in the college auditorium Friday night. Miss Vivian M. Robe directs the program, which features light and serious numbers.
