Big Haying Progress Amid Sunlit Beavershead Valley
Haying is advancing in Beaverhead Valley and soon in the Big Hole Basin and Centennial Valley where wild hay dominates. Local labor, mainly students and transient workers, remains adequate though baling in the field grows. Recent storms slowed work and rain aided moisture but caused some early cut hay to be handled again. A Barrets area cloudburst sent torrents into dry coulees but damage to hay and grain was limited as canals carried floodwater away.
