Death of Madison County resident in Rathdrum auto wreck
William O. Metzel died at Murray hospital after injuries from a car crash near Rathdrum Idaho last Monday. He was 49, survived by wife Etta Boatman and two sons Alexander and Elwin, with brothers Charles Frank and Albert. Funeral held at the Dillon Methodist church with Madison county residents attending.

Mr and Mrs George Gray arrived in Toledo after the death of their son in law Dr Wilbur A Smith dentist of Toledo. Their daughter Mrs Smith was seriously injured when a Studebaker car was struck by a westbound train at the central avenue crossing near Rattlesnake Corners on July 7. Miss Mary Sullivan died en route to hospital.

Drowned Sailor From Kansas Returned Home
James B. Strohm, 23, a hay hand at the B. H. Brundage ranch, drowned in a ten foot deep Redrock River hole near Dillon last Saturday while swimming for mud ducks with Gail Sutherland. His body was recovered with help from Frank Hartfield and others, and shipped to Wamego Kansas, his home, after burial in Montana duties. Strohm had enlisted in the navy at war onset and served as a third class fireman before returning to farm work.
