Big Tunnel Contract Set At Junction Mines
J K Bose manager of the Junction Mines says a contract was let to Dan Bahm to drive a cross cut tunnel about 850 feet long to pierce the dolomite lime wall and reach the vein at about 555 feet depth. The union tunnel will link Junction Mines Co and Idaho Consolidated Co unlocking deep ore, with prior shipments showing strong yields of lead and silver. The Gilmore Pittsburg railroad track near Cruikshank canyon will later cross the mine area and a spur to the tunnel mouth is planned. The two companies own about 6000 feet of ground on the contact and development is expected to make this a leading lead-silver property in Idaho.
