Montana Wools the Very Best in Country
H S Gallett of Nichols Depew and Co Boston visited Dillon on his way to Billings from Idaho where he had made large purchases. Idaho’s Soda Springs market paid 14 to 15 cents for wool with 13 to 14 cents for the lower grade as prices slipped slightly in ten days. He praised Montana wools as the best and notes that Montana sheep have better ranges and care. Idaho markets were fairly clean and Montana wool is sought by manufacturers who still import Australian wool to mix grades. Hallett plans to return to Dillon to consider Beaverhead county clips.
